Terms of the final price

For orders placed through the Lisbon Letter page.

  1. 1

    What the price covers

The final price covers exactly the files you uploaded, in the language pair you selected, with the delivery option you selected and the deadline shown on the price screen. Every translation priced automatically on this page is a certified translation, declared faithful by the translator before a lawyer or notary. Nothing else is included unless it is listed on the price screen.

  2. 2

    Your files are the reference

The price is calculated from the uploaded files. Every page, stamp, seal, annex, apostille and handwritten note in those files is counted. If the original document you later bring or post differs from the uploaded files in any way (more pages, a page we did not receive, an apostille or annex not uploaded, a different version of the document), we contact you before any work starts and quote the difference. You can accept it or get a full refund.

  3. 3

    Legible files

The price assumes files that can be read. If a file is blurred, cropped, incomplete, rotated beyond recognition or otherwise unreadable, the automatic price does not apply; a project manager will send you a manual quote within three business hours.

  4. 4

    Language exactly as indicated

If the text is not in the source language you selected, or if the files contain more than one language, the automatic price does not apply and a project manager will quote the job within three business hours. Languages written in non-Latin scripts are always quoted by a project manager.

  5. 5

    Our check

A project manager checks every automatic quote before the work starts. If the count is wrong through our fault, you pay the price you saw. If the check finds a serious problem with the files themselves, for example a page we could not read, a file that is not the document you meant to send, or a mismatch between the files and the language pair selected, we contact you before starting; you can go ahead at the corrected price or get a full refund.

  6. 6

    When the work starts

The work starts after payment has been received and the check in point 5 is complete. The PDF is delivered after that. The paper set is released after the payment has cleared.

  7. 7

    Refunds

A full refund is available while the work has not started, in the cases described in points 2, 3, 4 and 5, or if we cannot deliver by the deadline shown. Once the translation has started, the price is due in full. Refunds go back to the payment method used within two working days of our confirmation.

  8. 8

    Payment

Payment is made online on our client platform and processed by a certified payment provider with strong customer authentication. We do not store card details. Chargebacks for a job that was delivered as ordered are contested with the delivery record.

  9. 9

    Acceptance by third parties

We cannot answer for AIMA, a bank, a university, a consulate or any other entity. We deliver a translation certified under Portuguese law. Whether a given entity requires that certification, an apostille, the original or anything else is for that entity to say, and we recommend you ask it before ordering.

  10. 10

    Lisbon Letter offer

Until 4 December 2026 inclusive, orders of up to three documents placed through this page get the reduced deadline at the price of the normal deadline. The deadlines are the ones shown on the price screen. Orders of more than three documents, or placed after 4 December 2026, get the normal deadline only. The offer applies to the deadline and does not change the price or any other term.

  11. 11

    The price shown

The price shown is a quote like any other of ours: it is valid for 60 days from the moment it is sent. Pay it now, or ask a question and a project manager replies within three business hours. Prices include VAT at the current rate. Changes you ask for after paying (another language, extra copies, delivery abroad, a different deadline) are quoted separately.

  12. 12

    Your documents

Uploaded files are stored only for the purpose of quoting and, if you order, delivering the translation. They are deleted at your request, unless the law requires us to keep them. See our privacy policy.

  13. 13

    Governing terms

These terms complete, and in case of conflict prevail over, our general terms and conditions for the orders placed through this page. Portuguese law applies.
